One in four suffering from hay fever in the UK.
New data from leading global analyst firm
The UK’s pollen count is expected to soar this summer, much to the dismay of 25 per cent of the population who now suffer from hay fever.
Latest figures from independent analyst firm Datamonitor Healthcare, reveal that one in four Brits, that’s 16.7 million of us, now suffer from hay fever. Nearly a quarter of those affected are infants, children or adolescents up to the age of 20 (3.7 million).
Epidemiologist, Casey Godbout, predicts that these numbers will increase over the next 10 years:
“UK patient numbers are set to grow by more than 965,000 (6%) over the next 10 years. Across the US, Japan, and five major EU markets* there are currently 184 million sufferers and we expect there to be an extra 8.5 million with hay fever by 2023”
